Why You Should Stop Using Cleansing Wipes

Welcome back!

Isn’t it ironic that the most important things are often the most difficult?

Like wearing makeup is easier than taking it off which is the most important for our skin

I know it’s stressful to take off makeup at night especially after a long day so it’s easier to just use wipe instead of washing with soap and water.

But are they the best for healthy skin? I beg to differ.
Because they don’t cleanse the skin well, they just smear dirt, bacteria, oil and makeup across it. it’s like applying cleanser to your face with soap and then not washing it off.

The cleansing agents are designed to break down debris, but it’s the rinsing action from water that actually removes it.

It might be difficult to wash your face soap and water but it is the best so the moisturizers you use afterwards will not be a waste of time because of barrier formed of dead skin and dirt.

No wipe will clear your skin as effectively as a proper wash!
If you have acne prone skin and must use a wipe, use one that contains salicylic acid but be sure that you don’t react to salicylic acid and also limit their use to rare occasions.
You can use wipes on your eyes and rinse off with water to take off any residues.

So I hope we kick out laziness when it comes to removing our makeup.

Did you know about this?  How to you get rid of makeup?  I want to hear from you

  1. Wow, happy birthday in advance love. Not even sure which posts I enjoy more, I think I would prefer hair and beauty.

I am the type that must bathe before I go to bed. It has become a subconscious ritual but whenever laziness sets in, I just wipe make up off and sleep away. I never knew about this until now. Thanks for sharing…Guess I have to kick away the laziness whenever it tries to dictate to me.

  2. Once its night and about to go to bed, ALL make ups will be washed… Its better for the skin to be free and empty during the night. I have to wash thoroughly with soap and water during my bath time.

Even if i had the make up two hours earlier, they MUST all go.

Happy birthday in advance… God bless you and prosper you in your endeavours. Love you dear.

  3. Olive oil I learnt is the best natural makeup remover. It works magic and leaves your face glowing afterwards. Happy birthday in advance boo bae. Any of the current post categories work for me. More of everything 😘

  4. Happy Birthday booo. Best wishes and have lots of fun. Send my caakeeee.
I’ve read it somewhere too that wipes aren’t all that. Their reason was that we probably don’t know how long it has spent on the shelf and it would have been accumulating bacteria in between the layers. I was so sad. Lol. I’ve really reduced my use of it. Still used it last night tho cause no water. Lol. Have a fun day hun.

  5. Hi Funke,

Thanks for this post. I’ve never used cleansing wipes on my face though I planned to but I never got to buy any. What I do is I apply extra-virgin all over my face. Then I wipe off my makeup with tissue. The coconut oil helps the makeup to easily come off. I then proceed to wash my face with soap and water. It only takes a few minutes.
